Dear friends,
As many of you
know, my late
husband Paul
Dewar believed
deeply in the
power of
community, the
strength of
collective
action, and
the importance
of building
bridges
between people
and movements
to achieve
meaningful
change.
Ottawa Centre
has always
been a place
where these
values
flourish, and
I believe
Vicky Smallman
is the person
to carry that
legacy forward
as our next
NDP MP.
Vicky brings
an incredible
wealth of
experience to
the table. Her
deep roots in
labour, civil
society and
the NDP have
made her a
powerful
advocate for
fairness,
equity, and
justice.
As a longtime
feminist
leader in the
fight for
workers’
rights and
gender equity,
Vicky has
worked
tirelessly to
amplify the
voices of
people who are
too often left
behind by our
systems.
Vicky knows
how to bring
people
together and
how to
navigate
complex
challenges to
get results
that matter.
As a stalwart
NDP activist,
she’s been a
proven team
player,
working hard
to elect Ed
and Paul as
our MPs.
Vicky’s vision
for Ottawa
Centre
reflects our
party at its
best. She
understands
that
meaningful
change
requires
collaboration—within
our
communities
and across
movements. Her
work with
unions, human
rights
organizations,
and grassroots
groups has
prepared her
to be the
bold,
compassionate,
and effective
leader Ottawa
Centre needs
in this
critical
moment.
I’m proud to
endorse Vicky
Smallman for
the NDP
nomination. I
know Paul
would have
also been
delighted to
see Vicky in
the House of
Commons,
representing,
collaborating
and leading to
get results
for our
community.
Vicky will
make us proud
and bring us
together to
fight for a
better, fairer
world. I hope
you’ll join me
in supporting
her campaign.
In solidarity,
Julia
Sneyd
